Rabat Travel Guide

The city is located on the Atlantic Ocean at the mouth of the river Bou Regreg. On the facing shore of the river lies Salé, Rabat's bedroom community. Tourism and the presence of all foreign embassies serve to make Rabat the second most important city in the country.

Hotel Majestic

A popular budget option, the Majestic is well located, especially for self-drivers, opposite the medina on avenue Hassan II. There’s a choice of rooms with a balcony and medina view (and subsequent street noise), or quieter rooms at the rear. All the rooms are spacious, simply furnished, and have compact, modern bathrooms, although on my last visit the hotel’s broken hot-water system resulted in only a quick wash in the walk-in shower. I’ve always found the staff friendly, and its popularity ensures that you should prebook or arrive early.
